Fear, pain, insecurity, anxiety, futility of life and despair have caused men and women to be victims of neurosis so much so that an estimated 20% of the society is in the grip of emotional and behavioural problems. Cases of psychiatric illnesses, stress and anxiety effects, substance abuse and deteriorating families have reached frightening proportions. Kerala's context is no different. It is among these that AGAPE Mental Health And Research Institute (AMHRI) set out to make its mark.

AGAPE's primary focus is the counseling ministry. Most of the counseling services are provided free of charge. Many have been rescued from the brink of suicides, divorce, depression and other emotional problems. Some have joined churches in their localities. Our aim is to see a Kerala, where all its people lead an emotionally healthy lives. Through a variety of services we are helping the state to lower the alcohol consumption rates, suicidal rates and divorce rates.
